Spectators: 7089 (Terracing: 5423, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Lisandro Bastian started the match with the kick off. Julian Argoitz hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Oscar Oier took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Matias Illart. Matias Illart dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eliseo Videl in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ulises Policarpio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Oscar Oier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julian Argoitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Eliseo Videl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Ulises Policarpio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Azopardo's Lisandro Bastian got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eliseo Videl made a kick off. In the 54th minute Lisandro Bastian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matias Illart saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Lisandro Bastian came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Azopardo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lisandro Bastian couldn't finish the play. Edelmiro Teofilio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Ulises Policarpio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tiburcio Brion fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulises Policarpio having to interfere. Rio de la Plata's Matias Illart played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lisandro Bastian in the 74th minute of play. In the 77th minute, Oscar Oier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Oscar Oier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Tiburcio Brion managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rio de la Plata's supporters rose to their feet, but Tiburcio Brion was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ulises Policarpio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Oscar Oier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Matias Illart tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lisandro Bastian struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Matias Illart didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Azopardo. Rio de la Plata's Matias Illart proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Rio de la Plata from getting a goal against them.
