To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Remigio Tallia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Sarmiento AFC booed when Esquina AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severino Bermudez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute of the match Sarmiento AFC got a corner. Esquina AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Diegotxe ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Remigio Tallia in the 33rd minute of play forced Esquina AFC's goalkeeper Raimundo Fe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Sarmiento AFC booed when Esquina AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicasio Sotil didn't get a good kick on the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Amador Rivas notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Sarmiento AFC's Jacobo Prejun. Jacobo Prejun was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Maximiliano Elia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Sarmiento AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Esquina AFC were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Remigio Tallia to make the kick off. Dionisio Lorencio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dionisio Lorencio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Raimundo Fe having to make a save. Raimundo Fe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Remigio Tallia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Santiago Ritchie kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Remigio Tallia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sarmiento AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Remigio Tallia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Raimundo Fe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 67th minute, Remigio Tallia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Ubaldo Inko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ubaldo Inko kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. When Amador Rivas came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Esquina AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amador Rivas couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ubaldo Inko got free with Jacobo Prejun in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Dionisio Lorencio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sarmiento AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dionisio Lorencio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Raimundo Fe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
