Benedicto Evangelista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Salvador Mede, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 25 minutes into the match, Lafontaine's goalkeeper Santos Dolcet had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sebastian Chorche. The supporters of Deportivo San Onofre booed when Lafontaine was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artemio Euloxu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Codruț Iordache could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Santos Dolcet made a huge save. 36 minutes into the game, Codruț Iordache recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Santos Dolcet. Codruț Iordache showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After a rather tough play, Deportivo San Onofre's Kuncho Chenkov got a free kick in the 41st minute. Benedicto Evangelista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolas Millan, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Ivan Fliz kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo San Onofre's zone, Bruno Marcones stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benedicto Evangelista came out of the goal and Bruno Marcones tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 47 minutes into the game, Epifanio Vermudo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Benedicto Evangelista was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bruno Marcones was the one to do the kick off. Benedicto Evangelista made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Nicolas Millan sent off a good shot on target. Ivan Fliz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 71 played minutes Lafontaine got a freekick which was hit by Nicolas Millan. Codruț Iordache's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Santos Dolcet read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. In the 78th minute Codruț Iordache shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santos Dolcet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Codruț Iordache fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santos Dolcet having to interfere. Santos Dolcet stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ivan Fliz's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. 88 minutes into the match, Lafontaine's goal looked a bit too open when Codruț Iordache came free, but Santos Dolcet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Codruț Iordache sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee ended the match the Deportivo San Onofre players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
