Barrilete Cosmico FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lafontaine the free kick. In the 9th match minute, Barrilete Cosmico FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iker Rutenio to maneuver through the defense. Erubiel Bernat recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 25th minute, Erubiel Bernat fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Santos Dolcet, passed just outside the right post. Lafontaine's Santos Dolcet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erubiel Bernat in the 32nd minute of play. Abo Bado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Marcones in the 35th minute of play. In the 38th minute Bruno Marcones shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abo Bado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Erubiel Bernat managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barrilete Cosmico FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Erubiel Bernat was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Santos Dolcet breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Erubiel Bernat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santos Dolcet having to interfere. If Nicolas Millan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bruno Marcones was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Barrilete Cosmico FC booed when Lafontaine was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardo Serapio didn't get a good kick on the ball.
