After having played for 10 minutes, Matias Goren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Mapuches's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matias Goren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 13thth minute of the game Matias Goren who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atletico Atlas's Edmond Tardif was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Benicio Rutenio in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vinicio Refugio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vinicio Refugio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benicio Rutenio, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dario Bitxintxo got free with Edmond Tardif in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Los Mapuches's Vinicio Refugio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fausto Bemabe in the 24th minute of play. Edmond Tardif showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matias Goren in the 29th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Atletico Atlas's zone, Tadeo Godoy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edmond Tardif came out of the goal and Tadeo Godoy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Los Mapuches's Vinicio Refugio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benicio Rutenio in the 38th minute of play. Benicio Rutenio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 48 minutes of play, Atletico Atlas's Fausto Bemabe made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vinicio Refugio was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Benicio Rutenio made the kick off in the second half. When Benicio Rutenio came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Atletico Atlas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benicio Rutenio couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Fausto Bemabe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atletico Atlas's supporters rose to their feet, but Fausto Bemabe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vinicio Refugio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Benicio Rutenio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 66 minutes into the match, Los Mapuches's goal looked a bit too open when Benicio Rutenio came free, but Vinicio Refugio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
