Bruno Marcones received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Jose Javiar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nicolas Millan kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When Baldomero Raymon fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lafontaine's protests and gave Baldomero Raymon a yellow card for diving instead. Baldomero Raymon hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. In the 67th minute, Cristobal Veronica hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 81 minutes into the match, Lafontaine's goalkeeper Santos Dolcet had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aurelio Katia. Lafontaine's supporters rose to their feet, but Epifanio Vermudo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jose Javiar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
