The supporters of Atletico granada booed when C.A.River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjamin Todor didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Zeledon Ramirez from long distance, 28 minutes into the match, got Efrain Gaitano's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. If Vinicio Ekhi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. Geronimo Berdoi struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Efrain Gaitano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atletico granada. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Atletico granada's Amancio Tulio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vinicio Ekhi in the 62nd minute of play. After having played for 63 minutes, Vinicio Ekhi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.A.River Plate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vinicio Ekhi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Efrain Gaitano came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Atletico granada's Adolfo Fidele. But to his dismay, Adolfo Fidele quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. 70 minutes into the game, David Ciano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Efrain Gaitano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 79th minute, David Ciano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
