One of FENIX:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of C.A. INDEPENDIENTE:s goal. C.A. INDEPENDIENTE's Clodoveo Unax got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 19 minutes, Guillermo Macerio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FENIX's supporters crossed their fingers, but Guillermo Macerio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. FENIX's Candido Frederico got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Candido Frederico received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Anibal Dimo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Venancio Ted came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the FENIX fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Venancio Ted couldn't finish the play. Narciso Sadurni stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Clodoveo Unax's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. If Candido Frederico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in C.A. INDEPENDIENTE's zone, Candido Frederico stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anibal Dimo came out of the goal and Candido Frederico tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Candido Frederico made a kick off. Marcelino Urtsin was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 54th minute. C.A. INDEPENDIENTE's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Candido Frederico received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Anibal Dimo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Candido Frederico fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anibal Dimo having to interfere. Anibal Dimo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Candido Frederico, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 75th minute Venancio Ted shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anibal Dimo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Candido Frederico fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anibal Dimo having to interfere.
