After 20 minutes of play, Tartagal's Dario Normando made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Adolfo Rioja was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 25th minute, Urbano Ignazio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lino Felipo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerardo Laffitte having to interfere. Robustiano Rodas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adolfo Rioja having to interfere. Robustiano Rodas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 38thth minute tested the skills of Adolfo Rioja when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Dario Normando sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 46th minute, Robustiano Rodas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Urbano Ignazio came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Tartagal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Urbano Ignazio couldn't finish the play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

In the 53rd minute of the match Tartagal got a corner. Villarreal FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Urbano Ignazio ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Erasmo Hanot managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 57th minute Eulalio Indalecio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adolfo Rioja saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robustiano Rodas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tartagal's Gerardo Laffitte proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Tartagal from getting a goal against them. 78 minutes into the match, Eulalio Indalecio notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Villarreal FC's Adolfo Rioja. Adolfo Rioja was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
