The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Sixto Ursino the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Los Juries FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Sixto Ursino had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 11th minute there was a penalty for Sportivo Pueyrredon. Atilano Ederono stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Bernardino Cresitobalo. 0-1. Bernardino Cresitobalo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvano Olando in the 17th minute of play. Silvano Olando struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Bernardino Cresitobalo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sportivo Pueyrredon. After the first half Sportivo Pueyrredon were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 53rd minute Silvano Olando shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardino Cresitobalo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Aurelio Martxel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sportivo Pueyrredon's goalkeeper Cayetano Gartxot, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 68 minutes, Marcelino Jorrin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Juries FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcelino Jorrin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
