Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Roque Henric made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Basingtoke Córdoba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgard Cebo to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Basingtoke Córdoba's zone, Ciriaco Lobo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Matias Sauveur came out of the goal and Ciriaco Lobo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 61 minutes into the match, Basingtoke Córdoba's Mauro Lizbeth sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cristo Montay narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Bengolea AFC getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Braulio Cresconio hit a great ball. The supporters of Bengolea AFC booed when Basingtoke Córdoba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gregorio Lorenz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 68th minute Roque Henric shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristo Montay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Bengolea AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Bengolea AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
