In the 13th minute Albino Teodor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeronimo Fidensio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Dario Herena managed to get in a good position for a shot. C. S. y D. Adrogué's supporters rose to their feet, but Dario Herena was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as C. S. y D. Adrogué's Albino Teodor slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jeronimo Fidensio. That made the score 2-0 after 24 minutes of play. If Albino Teodor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 29 minutes into the game, one of Chumillo:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When Arturo Chinto came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Chumillo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arturo Chinto couldn't finish the play. In the 46th minute of the match Hipolito Lain shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Ostots showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Chumillo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C. S. y D. Adrogué the free kick. The supporters of C. S. y D. During the 86th minute of the match Wilfredo Confesor completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Wilfredo Confesor a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 86th minute, Wilfredo Confesor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 87th minute of the match Elpidio Godoy shot from a long distance.
