Benigno Jusepe came out of the goal and Tobias Frans tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ernesto Caton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristobal Bonifaco having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Gerardo Maldonado might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benigno Jusepe. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. In the 76th match minute, Juan Manuel de Rosas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Milian to maneuver through the defense. Tobias Frans struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Benigno Jusepe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for José Mourinho. If Gerardo Maldonado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
