In the 3rd minute Julian Bibiano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aldo Haimar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Hidalgo FC's Patricio Tono got a free kick in the 5th minute. In the 8th minute, Erasmo Guilabertus reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Cesar Arce. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 13th minute, Jonathan Umea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 21 minutes into the game, Lorenzo Mikeldi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vinalito AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hidalgo FC the free kick. After 21 played minutes Vinalito AFC got a freekick which was hit by Lorenzo Mikeldi. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Arturo Stanislao managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hidalgo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Arturo Stanislao was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aldo Haimar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 30 minutes of play, Hidalgo FC's Julian Bibiano made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aldo Haimar was left in no man's land by his defense there! Blas Guilabertus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Cesar Arce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arturo Stanislao in the 40th minute of play forced Vinalito AFC's goalkeeper Aldo Haimar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 52nd match minute, Hidalgo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco Medina to maneuver through the defense. After 54 played minutes, Vinalito AFC's Generoso Sal shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cesar Arce came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Vinalito AFC reached it. Arturo Stanislao who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 56thth minute tested the skills of Aldo Haimar when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Vinalito AFC's zone, Julian Bibiano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aldo Haimar came out of the goal and Julian Bibiano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 61 minutes into the match, Vinalito AFC's goalkeeper Aldo Haimar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arturo Stanislao. If Arturo Stanislao had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julian Bibiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Efrain Mero charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Efrain Mero the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 67th match minute, Hidalgo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Efrain Mero to maneuver through the defense. Erasmo Guilabertus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cesar Arce having to interfere. Vinalito AFC's Erasmo Guilabertus got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 78 minutes, Roque Orlin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vinalito AFC and the Hidalgo FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 78th match minute, Vinalito AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roque Orlin to maneuver through the defense. If Blas Guilabertus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patricio Tono's late challenge caught a Vinalito AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Patricio Tono helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Vinalito AFC booed when Hidalgo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Tono didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aldo Haimar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan Umea in the 92nd minute of play. Vinalito AFC's Aldo Haimar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Vinalito AFC from getting a goal against them. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Vinalito AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Hidalgo FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
