The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nereo Chorache helped the player get up and apologised. The referee gave Rumiñahui a penalty, 8 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Narciso Transito, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Sozaito guazo fc's Luciano Lohitzun. 0-1. After 13 played minutes Sozaito guazo fc got a freekick which was hit by Julian Rainerio. Sozaito guazo fc's Luciano Lohitzun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Narciso Frasquito in the 16th minute of play. When Rosendo Sidro came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Rumiñahui fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rosendo Sidro couldn't finish the play. Diego Valentine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luciano Lohitzun having to interfere. When Edgard Beti fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sozaito guazo fc's protests and gave Edgard Beti a yellow card for diving instead. In the 42nd minute, Rosendo Sidro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Narciso Frasquito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luciano Lohitzun having to interfere. The Sozaito guazo fc players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Rumiñahui were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rosendo Sidro to make the kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Narciso Frasquito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rumiñahui's supporters crossed their fingers, but Narciso Frasquito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 59 played minutes Rumiñahui got a freekick which was hit by Vinicio Otsando. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgard Beti in the 63rd minute of play forced Rumiñahui's goalkeeper Epifanio Bras to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Epifanio Bras showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucas Fernanco in the 68th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Sozaito guazo fc's Julian Rainerio got a free kick in the 74th minute. Rumiñahui's Astor Lalla got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Rumiñahui getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Narciso Transito hit a great ball. Narciso Frasquito succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-2 in the 91st playminute. The Sozaito guazo fc fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Rumiñahui were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
