Spectators: 7350 (Terracing: 5513, Seating: 1690, VIP seats: 147) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Aquiles Mendebal kicked off to start the match. Jacinto Eneas kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. 5 minutes into the game, Alicante FC's Everardo Mano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alberto Galindo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Camilo Txaran in the 13th minute of play forced Alicante FC's goalkeeper Gregorio Menendo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Camilo Txaran managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Billys's supporters rose to their feet, but Camilo Txaran was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gregorio Menendo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 15 played minutes Alicante FC got a freekick which was hit by Jairo Belo. When Benito Ramone came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Alicante FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benito Ramone couldn't finish the play. 23 minutes into the match, Alicante FC's Alfonso Lia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alberto Galindo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Everardo Mano who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 24thth minute tested the skills of Alberto Galindo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Los Billys's goalkeeper Alberto Galindo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Prudencio Gorri took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alberto Galindo. Alberto Galindo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Gregorio Menendo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Camilo Txaran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gregorio Menendo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aquiles Mendebal in the 44th minute of the match. Alberto Galindo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfonso Lia, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Everardo Mano who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 47thth minute tested the skills of Alberto Galindo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Everardo Mano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

After a rather tough play, Alicante FC's Prudencio Gorri got a free kick in the 52nd minute. When Alfonso Lia came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Alicante FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfonso Lia couldn't finish the play. Aquiles Mendebal might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gregorio Menendo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aquiles Mendebal ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the Alicante FC defense, Camilo Txaran kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gregorio Menendo. The Alicante FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gregorio Menendo should have stopped the shot. Alberto Galindo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Everardo Mano went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Everardo Mano might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alberto Galindo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Everardo Mano ran back to his position shaking his head. After 71 minutes of play, Alicante FC's Alfonso Lia made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alberto Galindo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Alicante FC's Everardo Mano got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 92 minutes, Prudencio Gorri mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Alicante FC and the Los Billys players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Los Billys booed when Alicante FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Prudencio Gorri didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vinicio Vidal struck a weak shot in the 98th minute. Alberto Galindo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alicante FC.
