Everardo Mano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Ulises Ekialde tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 8 minutes, Benito Ramone mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Alicante FC and the Barrio Almagro players grew even worse after the yellow card. Alfonso Lia struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Ulises Ekialde didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alicante FC. Alicante FC's Everardo Mano got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ulises Ekialde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Everardo Mano in the 20th minute of play. Ulises Ekialde didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alfonso Lia went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Alicante FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Prudencio Gorri in the 31st minute. The corner led to Alicante FC's Benito Ramone getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Guillermo Sugoi's late challenge caught a Alicante FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Guillermo Sugoi helped the player get up and apologised. After 38 minutes of play, Alicante FC's Everardo Mano made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ulises Ekialde was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lucio Kinsen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ulises Ekialde came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Alicante FC's Everardo Mano. But to his dismay, Everardo Mano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. Everardo Mano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ulises Ekialde read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Vinicio Vidal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alicante FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Vinicio Vidal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ulises Ekialde breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Everardo Mano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ulises Ekialde having to make a save. Everardo Mano took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ulises Ekialde. Ulises Ekialde dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. Gregorio Menendo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucio Kinsen, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 77th minute, Everardo Mano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee gave Barrio Almagro a penalty, 82 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Baldomiro Deunoro, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Alicante FC's Gregorio Menendo. 2-5. 93 minutes into the match, Lucio Kinsen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gregorio Menendo. Alicante FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lucio Kinsen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-5. Alicante FC's Gregorio Menendo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucio Kinsen in the 97th minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Alicante FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Barrio Almagro.
