To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 9 minutes into the match, Cotita's goal looked a bit too open when Aldo Arias came free, but Alejandro Demario reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aldo Arias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Alejandro Demario tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 14th minute, Aldo Arias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 21st minute, Apolo Romelio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cordoba's Salvador Pacifico got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 32 minutes into the game, Cordoba's Salvador Pacifico nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alejandro Demario made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 35 minutes into the match, Cotita's goal looked a bit too open when Tobias Aztore came free, but Alejandro Demario reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Salvador Pacifico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Hector Boniel hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. 45 minutes into the match, Cordoba's goal looked a bit too open when Aureliano Sazon came free, but Fabricio Bernard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Salvador Pacifico couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aldo Arias in the 70th minute of play forced Cotita's goalkeeper Alejandro Demario to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alejandro Demario made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aldo Arias in the 75th minute of play. After 80 played minutes Cotita got a freekick which was hit by Ermegildo Dominguez. Gregorio Danel was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 81st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Salvador Pacifico fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alejandro Demario having to interfere. The supporters of Cordoba booed when Cotita was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angelo Filipo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 90th minute Cordoba were awarded a corner. Gregorio Danel went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Cordoba's Gregorio Danel to fire away a dangerous shot which Alejandro Demario despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 92nd minute Aldo Arias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alejandro Demario saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 93 minutes, Angelo Filipo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cotita and the Cordoba players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Cordoba fans cheered their team off the field, for while Cotita had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
