After a rather tough play, Salto 's Severino Urbes got a free kick in the 24th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Salto 's zone, Esteban Mogel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eriberto Bastia came out of the goal and Esteban Mogel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 27 minutes into the game, Nicasio Ofelio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Salto 's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Empalme the free kick. Nicasio Ofelio hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. When Empalme's Saul Txaran in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Salto 's goalie prevented a goal. The wind increased when Saul Txaran made the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes, Mauricio Weterio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Salto and the Empalme players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mauricio Weterio hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Arnulfo Harkaitz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Empalme's Camilo Blanco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Empalme from getting a goal against them. Esteban Mogel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Empalme's Mauro Meder, in the 62nd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Empalme. The attack was good, but when Esteban Mogel in the 65th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. When Uriel Bela came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Salto fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Uriel Bela couldn't finish the play. Esteban Mogel scored 4-0 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eriberto Bastia, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
