Matias Montel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Filiberto Kismi's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. Arsenio Asier who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 5thth minute tested the skills of Arsenio Urtsin when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Arsenio Asier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Club Atlético Platense booed when Rocky de Vélez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ladislao Abajas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th minute Ladislao Abajas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matias Montel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 27 minutes of play, Rocky de Vélez's Filiberto Kismi made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Matias Montel was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 32 minutes, Maximiliano Inocente managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Atlético Platense's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maximiliano Inocente was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 33rd minute Teobaldo Ekialde shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arsenio Urtsin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maximiliano Inocente received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Arsenio Urtsin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ladislao Abajas to strike the kick off in the second half. If Federico Curcio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 62nd minute Ladislao Abajas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matias Montel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rocky de Vélez's Arsenio Urtsin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teobaldo Ekialde in the 65th minute of play. Matias Montel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Filiberto Kismi went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Arsenio Urtsin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arsenio Asier's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. In the 86th minute, Prudencio Argoitz fired a really elegant long shot, but Matias Montel threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. In the 87th minute, Arnoldo Lehoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maximiliano Inocente fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arsenio Urtsin having to interfere. Matias Montel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Federico Curcio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arsenio Urtsin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arsenio Asier, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The Rocky de Vélez supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Rocky de Vélez would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
