Spectators: 6813 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1669, VIP seats: 144) 4 minutes into the match, Danilo Dacio notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Chelsea FC's Lorenzo Barea. Lorenzo Barea was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Danilo Dacio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 12 minutes into the match, Arnulfo Checa notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Covunco's Arturo Haitz. Arturo Haitz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Arnulfo Checa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arturo Haitz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. Covunco's Danilo Dacio got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 26 minutes into the match, Covunco's goal looked a bit too open when Celso Dimas came free, but Arturo Haitz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Celso Dimas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Arturo Haitz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Covunco's Hilario Soter got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Mauro Laurgain, 33 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Celso Dimas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnulfo Checa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Honorato Nicholas kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Chelsea FC's Arnulfo Checa got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arnulfo Checa was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Covunco's zone, Celso Dimas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arturo Haitz came out of the goal and Celso Dimas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Celso Dimas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arturo Haitz having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Covunco's zone, Arnulfo Checa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arturo Haitz came out of the goal and Arnulfo Checa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arturo Haitz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnulfo Checa in the 66th minute of play. Orlando Libertad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lorenzo Barea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orlando Libertad, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Celso Dimas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Arturo Haitz made a huge save. A collision led to Covunco getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Hilario Soter hit a great ball. In the 78th match minute, Chelsea FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnulfo Checa to maneuver through the defense. Arnulfo Checa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Arturo Haitz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 85 minutes of play, Covunco's Hilario Soter made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lorenzo Barea was left in no man's land by his defense there! Covunco were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Chelsea FC for a fine match.
