Dalmacio Chorache hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. A collision led to Chivo F.C. getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Florencio Oliviero hit a great ball. Alvaro Batista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florencio Oliviero in the 15th minute of the match. Alvaro Batista made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dalmacio Chorache in the 16th minute. 2-0 became the score in the 18th minute when Carolo Eleazar elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 21st play minute Carolo Eleazar came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Alvaro Batista. 3-0. In the 24th minute Rolando Rico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvaro Batista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Lorenzo Teofilio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Argentinos Juniors's Baltasar Enekoitz got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 35th match minute, Chivo F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florencio Oliviero to maneuver through the defense. 37 minutes into the game, Edgard Elivareo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Argentinos Juniors's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chivo F.C. the free kick. Cayetano Lope's late challenge caught a Chivo F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alvaro Batista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rolando Rico, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. The audience was convinced that Baltasar Enekoitz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Evaristo Urtzi was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. In the 47th minute of the match, Florencio Oliviero tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Alvaro Batista saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line.

Rolando Rico's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alvaro Batista read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Chivo F.C.'s zone, Aquiles Timo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Evaristo Urtzi came out of the goal and Aquiles Timo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 64 minutes, Florencio Oliviero mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chivo F.C. and the Argentinos Juniors players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 67th minute, Abel Petrigai hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 70thth minute of the game Baltasar Enekoitz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chivo F.C.'s Evaristo Urtzi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Chivo F.C.'s Rolando Rico got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Donato Nastasio's late challenge caught a Argentinos Juniors's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The referee felt a red card was in order, 82 minutes into the game, when Urbano Walme put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Argentinos Juniors fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 81st minute. Penalty! The supporters of Argentinos Juniors booed when Chivo F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lino Marin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Baltasar Enekoitz in the 90thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Alvaro Batista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rolando Rico, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. Many of Argentinos Juniors's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Argentinos Juniors may have spent more time on the ball, but Chivo F.C. were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
