In the 2nd minute, Atilano Nikola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Humberto Txindoki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lorenzo Teofilio, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. In the 9th minute Baltasar Enekoitz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Humberto Txindoki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Cieneguilla FC's Humberto Txindoki got control of the ball when Baltasar Enekoitz tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 12th match minute, Argentinos Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victoriano Romelio to maneuver through the defense. Alvaro Batista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Atilano Nikola in the 14th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Argentinos Juniors's zone, Atilano Nikola stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alvaro Batista came out of the goal and Atilano Nikola tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Baltasar Enekoitzs short, quick shot in the 24thth minute got Humberto Txindoki to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Baltasar Enekoitz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alvaro Batista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Honorato Tiadoro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lorenzo Teofilio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Humberto Txindoki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Atilano Nikola to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Cieneguilla FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cayetano Lope came free, but Humberto Txindoki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 54th match minute, Argentinos Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aquiles Timo to maneuver through the defense. Aquiles Timo was in a good position and ended up with the ball after Argentinos Juniors's free kick, but he didn't get a good hit on the ball and blazed it high and to the right of the goal. In the 61st minute, Lorenzo Teofilio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Humberto Txindoki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lorenzo Teofilio in the 68th minute of play. Edelmiro Ipar's late challenge caught a Argentinos Juniors's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edelmiro Ipar helped the player get up and apologised. After having played for 70 minutes, Baltasar Enekoitz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Argentinos Juniors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Baltasar Enekoitz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Benedicto Gentza kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Argentinos Juniors's Alvaro Batista proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Argentinos Juniors from getting a goal against them. In the 76th minute Aquiles Timo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Humberto Txindoki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Atilano Nikola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Argentinos Juniors's Alvaro Batista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Atilano Nikola in the 83rd minute of play. Humberto Txindoki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lorenzo Teofilio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alvaro Batista made an important save on a dangerous shot by Miguel Bermudez in the 93rd minute. Chants of Cieneguilla FC echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Argentinos Juniors had held the ball for most of the match.
