The supporters of Dragon Azzurro FC booed when River Gold was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edelmiro Txatxu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 7 minutes, Roque Ponce managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. River Gold's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roque Ponce was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Emiliano Rudolfo hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. When Roque Ponce came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the River Gold fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roque Ponce couldn't finish the play. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Dragon Azzurro FC's goalkeeper Joaquin Gonzo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 20th minute, Roque Ponce left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The River Gold fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Evelio Garci in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Isaac Veto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roque Ponce in the 27th minute of play forced Dragon Azzurro FC's goalkeeper Joaquin Gonzo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joaquin Gonzo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erasmo Basajaun in the 28th minute of the match. Joaquin Gonzo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erasmo Basajaun, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. When Enrique Eleder fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dragon Azzurro FC's protests and gave Enrique Eleder a yellow card for diving instead. In the 38th minute, Enrique Eleder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 40th minute, Roque Ponce got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Erasmo Basajaun might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joaquin Gonzo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Erasmo Basajaun ran back to his position shaking his head. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Evelio Garci was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Roque Ponce ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joaquin Gonzo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 55th minute of the match, Roque Ponce tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Joaquin Gonzo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Erasmo Basajaun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 62 minutes into the match, Dragon Azzurro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Roque Ponce came free, but Joaquin Gonzo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joaquin Gonzo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roque Ponce, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joaquin Gonzo came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by River Gold's Edelmiro Txatxu. But to his dismay, Edelmiro Txatxu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Roque Ponce might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joaquin Gonzo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roque Ponce ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 76th minute Roque Ponce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gonzo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 79 minutes, Roque Ponce managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. River Gold's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roque Ponce was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niceto Ramone in the 90th minute of play forced River Gold's goalkeeper Isaac Veto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Erasmo Basajaun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Gonzo having to interfere. Erasmo Basajaun in the 95thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Joaquin Gonzo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. River Gold's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
