If Geronimo Gipuzkoa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geronimo Gipuzkoa in the 18th minute of play forced Manchester City's goalkeeper Diego Abilio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Diego Abilio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geronimo Gipuzkoa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Cacique Chalimín FC booed when Manchester City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benito Florin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Cacique Chalimín FC's zone, Denis Cambranes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Esteban Oriche came out of the goal and Denis Cambranes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bernardino Jerardo in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Esteban Oriche saved Cacique Chalimín FC from getting behind. Bernardino Jerardo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Esteban Oriche tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Denis Cambranes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 38th minute of the match Roque Obeko sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Esteban Oriche skillfully saved the ball. Bernardino Jerardo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esteban Oriche having to interfere. After 47 minutes, Osvaldo Mark mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Manchester City and the Cacique Chalimín FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 47th minute, Osvaldo Mark hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Geronimo Gipuzkoa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Diego Abilio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Denis Cambranes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Denis Cambranes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benedicto Cuartio struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Diego Abilio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cacique Chalimín FC. Esteban Oriche made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denis Cambranes in the 62nd minute of play. In the 64th minute Geronimo Gipuzkoa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Abilio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Geronimo Gipuzkoa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Diego Abilio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geronimo Gipuzkoa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anastasio Maidana during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Manchester City's Diego Abilio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benedicto Cuartio in the 83rd minute of play. Esteban Oriche showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denis Cambranes in the 85th minute of the match. When Denis Cambranes came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Manchester City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Denis Cambranes couldn't finish the play. If Benedicto Cuartio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Denis Cambranes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esteban Oriche having to interfere. Cacique Chalimín FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
