The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 4 minutes, Oscar Moise managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Majaditas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oscar Moise was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 5th minute, one of Maipú:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Maipú. Aldo Cristos shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. 11 minutes into the game, Pedro Deunoro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maipú's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Majaditas the free kick. A collision led to Maipú getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Pedro Deunoro hit a great ball. Alejandro Evis struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Danilo Dominguez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Majaditas. Oscar Moise fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danilo Dominguez having to interfere. Oscar Moise could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Danilo Dominguez made a huge save. If Alejo Bihar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alejo Bihar in the 19th minute of play forced Majaditas's goalkeeper Cleto Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Majaditas's zone, Alejo Bihar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cleto Romero came out of the goal and Alejo Bihar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cleto Romero stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alejo Bihar's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. In the 29th minute, Pedro Deunoro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 33rdth minute of the game Alejo Bihar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Majaditas's Cleto Romero was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Majaditas's zone, Gaudencio Pio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cleto Romero came out of the goal and Gaudencio Pio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 53rd minute Alejandro Evis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Danilo Dominguez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gaudencio Pio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Majaditas's Cleto Romero got control of the ball when Gaudencio Pio tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Gaudencio Pio came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Maipú fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gaudencio Pio couldn't finish the play. Gaudencio Pio's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Cleto Romero firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Gaudencio Pio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alejo Bihar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Cleto Romero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 78 minutes, Oscar Moise managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jaime Tuste fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cleto Romero having to interfere.
