The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eulalio Nicholas during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 25 minutes into the match, Leonardo Rexino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Florencio Lia. Barcelona's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leonardo Rexino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Justino Nevada fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damian Avellaneda having to interfere. During the 31st minute of the match Eulalio Nicholas completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Eulalio Nicholas a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Barcelona booed when Seven was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eulalio Nicholas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Florencio Lia came out of the goal and Leonardo Rexino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 47th minute Celestino Eguzki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florencio Lia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Seven were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Leonardo Rexino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Florencio Lia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. Cornelio Jorrin might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Florencio Lia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cornelio Jorrin ran back to his position shaking his head. When Nicolas Domiku fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Seven's protests and gave Nicolas Domiku a yellow card for diving instead. Justino Nevada received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Damian Avellaneda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
