To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 23 minutes into the match, Barcelona's goal looked a bit too open when Orlando Fraco came free, but Florencio Lia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Florencio Lia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orlando Fraco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Florencio Lia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Conrado Salbatore's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Florencio Lia was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Conrado Salbatore showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 34 minute of play. Conrado Salbatore fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florencio Lia having to interfere. If Amancio Iratxo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sanford's Conrado Salbatore got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Florencio Lia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Conrado Salbatore's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. When the match clock showed 72 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Conrado Salbatore sped through Barcelona's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Florencio Lia. After 76 minutes of play, Sanford's Conrado Salbatore made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Florencio Lia was left in no man's land by his defense there! 82 minutes into the match, Conrado Salbatore had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Florencio Lia. Barcelona's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Conrado Salbatore was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. After 86 played minutes Sanford got a freekick which was hit by Guido Cisco. 89 minutes into the game, Teodosio Martxelin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Gonzalo Mel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Guido Cisco struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Florencio Lia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sanford.
