Gaston Jaunzuria charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gaston Jaunzuria the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gaston Jaunzuria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Rafael Min tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Hugo Eladio hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Nunez Gregory hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. A collision led to Jockey Club Villa Maria getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Gaston Jaunzuria hit a great ball. If Gabriel Honrio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Gabriel Honrio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Candelaria's supporters rose to their feet, but Gabriel Honrio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ubaldo Arnau breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. For all the effort they put into the match, the Candelaria players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Jockey Club Villa Maria.
