Spectators: 6453 (Terracing: 5453, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. The goalkeeper, Albino Ladio, was totally fooled by Antofagasta's Adan Cordero, who 17 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. The supporters of Antofagasta booed when Carnerillo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angel Gaueko didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Saturnino Celipe got free with Albino Ladio in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Maximiliano Vimaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Saturnino Celipe's late challenge caught a Carnerillo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Saturnino Celipe helped the player get up and apologised. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Angel Gaueko in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Roque Blanco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Roque Blanco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angel Gaueko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rd minute, Antofagasta's Saturnino Celipe dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angel Gaueko in the 38th minute of play forced Antofagasta's goalkeeper Roque Blanco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfredo Lucila took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Roque Blanco. Roque Blanco dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. 43 minutes into the match, Antofagasta's goal looked a bit too open when Angel Gaueko came free, but Roque Blanco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th minute, Angel Gaueko got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lorenzo Domingues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Roque Blanco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Maximiliano Vimaro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Roque Blanco made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Angel Gaueko sent off a good shot on target. Lorenzo Domingues blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Roque Blanco having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Carnerillo's Generoso Faro got a free kick in the 56th minute. If Angel Gaueko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Angel Gaueko spun around in front of the goal 67 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Antofagasta's goal. If Angel Gaueko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 72 minutes into the game, Angel Gaueko cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Roque Blanco was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Albino Abadie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roque Blanco having to interfere. Angel Gaueko struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Roque Blanco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carnerillo. Albino Ladio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Prospero Palos, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. But to his dismay, Angel Gaueko quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. Antofagasta succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Carnerillo had controlled the match.
