The tension between the Punto Unido FC and the Isaac Newell players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 16th minute, Jonathan Beremundo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 20th minute, Ceferino Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alvaro Erramun was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Vicente Paez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aquiles Benitez having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Cayetano Rodriguez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alvaro Erramun was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. 32 minutes into the game, Ceferino Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Alvaro Erramun was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Alvaro Erramun made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. After the first half Punto Unido FC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vicente Paez to make the kick off. Froilan Lauro's shot from long distance in the 52nd minute was not bad at all, but Isaac Newell's Alvaro Erramun knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. If Vicente Paez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Cayetano Rodriguez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Punto Unido FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cayetano Rodriguez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alvaro Erramun breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Isaac Newell's zone, Ceferino Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alvaro Erramun came out of the goal and Ceferino Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Vicente Paez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Isaac Newell's supporters rose to their feet, but Vicente Paez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aquiles Benitez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hugo Chepe might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alvaro Erramun. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hugo Chepe ran back to his position shaking his head. Juan Duardo hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. 77 minutes into the game, Anier Bihar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Isaac Newell's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Punto Unido FC the free kick. Anier Bihar kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. In the 83rd minute Cayetano Rodriguez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvaro Erramun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ceferino Sancho got free with Alvaro Erramun in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Laureano Olivar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Aquiles Benitez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Isaac Newell's Luisito Rencio couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 90th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Punto Unido FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
