After having played for 4 minutes, Nemesio Mazuste managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Tigres's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nemesio Mazuste was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Nemesio Mazuste's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Braulio Jacindo was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. The supporters of Granjeros F.C. booed when Los Tigres was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anastasio Jerrald didn't get a good kick on the ball. Severiano Muno struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Leonardo Jacob didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Granjeros F.C.. Los Tigres's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Severiano Muno was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After 44 minutes of play, Los Tigres's Roberto Sanchez made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Braulio Jacindo was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Elvio Haimar was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Los Tigres's zone, Elvio Haimar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leonardo Jacob came out of the goal and Elvio Haimar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leonardo Jacob stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Severiano Muno's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. Severiano Muno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Nemesio Mazuste came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Los Tigres fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nemesio Mazuste couldn't finish the play. In the 57th minute, Miguel Panpili hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Nemesio Mazuste had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Roberto Sanchez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In a very dangerous position, a player in Granjeros F.C. fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 66th minute. Penalty! After recieving a nice pass, Granjeros F.C.'s Severiano Muno tried to score from far away in the 70th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Elvio Haimar might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leonardo Jacob. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elvio Haimar ran back to his position shaking his head. Severiano Muno struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Leonardo Jacob didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Granjeros F.C.. Roberto Sanchez struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. The referee showed Valentin Beremundo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Valentin Beremundo hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. If Roberto Sanchez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd match minute, Granjeros F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cosme Jatsu to maneuver through the defense. Roberto Sanchez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Los Tigres players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
