Portugal Deportivo's Fidel Birila proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Portugal Deportivo from getting a goal against them. After 11 played minutes Portugal Deportivo got a freekick which was hit by Cecilio Mogel. Isaias Ilixo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rosendo Laurendi in the 19th minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Gavino Liher hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Matthew F.C.'s zone, Fernando Aires stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isaias Ilixo came out of the goal and Fernando Aires tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 27th minute, Rosendo Laurendi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Portugal Deportivo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Marco Goito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Fidel Birila tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Isaias Ilixo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rosendo Laurendi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jorge Beremundo scored 1-1 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fidel Birila, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rosendo Laurendi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jorge Beremundo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Fidel Birila tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 58 minutes into the game, Emilio Neron was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Matthew F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Portugal Deportivo the free kick. Emilio Neron hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Matthew F.C.'s Edgard Hats got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Marco Goito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fidel Birila having to interfere. 74 minutes into the match, Portugal Deportivo's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Beremundo came free, but Fidel Birila reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Goito in the 81st minute of play forced Portugal Deportivo's goalkeeper Fidel Birila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marco Goito might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fidel Birila. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marco Goito ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 85th minute, Adan Neto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Matthew F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Rosendo Laurendi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Matthew F.C. walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
