The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cosme Gaur got free with Santiago Valerio in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Clemente Garin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eduardo Eleder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Santiago Valerio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cosme Gaur in the 12th minute. If Cosme Gaur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of American Ipa FC booed when Jujuy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Honorato Rivero didn't get a good kick on the ball. American Ipa FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. Santiago Valerio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Virgilio Efren's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Santiago Valerio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 26 minutes into the match, American Ipa FC's goal looked a bit too open when Eduardo Eleder came free, but Clemente Garin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Virgilio Efren in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Santiago Valerio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Eduardo Eleder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Oier's late challenge caught a American Ipa FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Daniel Oier helped the player get up and apologised. Daniel Oier kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. After 35 played minutes, American Ipa FC's Ivan Musko shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Santiago Valerio came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in American Ipa FC reached it. 36 minutes into the match, American Ipa FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Abreu came free, but Clemente Garin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgilio Efren in the 62nd minute of play forced Jujuy's goalkeeper Santiago Valerio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute, Eduardo Eleder fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 71st minute, Virgilio Efren left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The American Ipa FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 76 minutes into the match, American Ipa FC's Cosme Gaur sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Santiago Valerio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Angelo Mark fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored American Ipa FC's protests and gave Angelo Mark a yellow card for diving instead. After 79 played minutes American Ipa FC got a freekick which was hit by Angelo Mark. After having played for 83 minutes, Virgilio Efren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. American Ipa FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Virgilio Efren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in Jujuy fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 84th minute. Penalty! In the 96th minute, Jaime Tiso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jujuy's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
