To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 13 minutes into the match, Dock Sud's goal looked a bit too open when Oscar Botello came free, but Gervasio Alfonso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 14 minutes, Oscar Botello managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Mercedes Corrientes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oscar Botello was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Justino Lamberto scored 0-1 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gervasio Alfonso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Club Mercedes Corrientes booed when Dock Sud was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ciriaco Terciero didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Dock Sud defense, Oscar Botello kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gervasio Alfonso. The Dock Sud fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gervasio Alfonso should have stopped the shot. In the 35th minute, Oscar Botello got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Oscar Botello's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gervasio Alfonso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Gervasio Alfonso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. 64 minutes into the match, Dock Sud's Enzo Sotil sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Leopoldo Romo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 66 minutes in the game Marco Ponc did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Romulo Pitin. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Justino Lamberto took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Gervasio Alfonso to make any attempt to save it. Oscar Botello blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gervasio Alfonso having to make a save. Gervasio Alfonso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oscar Botello in the 80th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Oscar Botello managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Mercedes Corrientes's supporters rose to their feet, but Oscar Botello was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gervasio Alfonso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Dock Sud getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. After 97 played minutes, Dock Sud's Marco Ponc shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Leopoldo Romo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Dock Sud reached it. Club Mercedes Corrientes's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
