The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ciriaco Terciero hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Norberto Casado scored 0-1 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gervasio Alfonso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Geronimo Niva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gervasio Alfonso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Norberto Casado's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. Ambrosio Cordario went to the wrong direction when Osvaldo Tano was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. When Zacarias Paublo came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Racing Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zacarias Paublo couldn't finish the play. Ciriaco Terciero kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Norberto Casado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Racing Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Norberto Casado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gervasio Alfonso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gervasio Alfonso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zacarias Paublo in the 30th minute of the match. After 31 played minutes Racing Club got a freekick which was hit by Fermin Ramos. Norberto Casado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Gervasio Alfonso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 37th minute of the match Antonio Lopes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gervasio Alfonso skillfully saved the ball. When Domingos Argi fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dock Sud's protests and gave Domingos Argi a yellow card for diving instead. In the 38th match minute, Dock Sud was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Domingos Argi to maneuver through the defense. Fermin Ramos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 41st minute, Osvaldo Tano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 45th minute, Norberto Casado ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gervasio Alfonso was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Enzo Sotil made a kick off. If Norberto Casado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dock Sud's Gervasio Alfonso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Norberto Casado in the 58th minute of play. Norberto Casado might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gervasio Alfonso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Norberto Casado ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 62nd minute, Geronimo Niva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gervasio Alfonso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Norberto Casado's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. Ciriaco Terciero's late challenge caught a Racing Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ciriaco Terciero helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Dock Sud getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Ciriaco Terciero hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Norberto Casado kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gervasio Alfonso. That made the score 0-4 in the 67 minute of play. 73 minutes into the match, Racing Club's Norberto Casado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gervasio Alfonso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 78th minute, Dock Sud's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Norberto Casado fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Anastasio Ranolfo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gervasio Alfonso. That made the score 0-6 in the 80 minute of play. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Anastasio Ranolfo took a quick shot and it went in 0-7 without a chance for Gervasio Alfonso to make any attempt to save it. Gervasio Alfonso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Norberto Casado's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. Norberto Casado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gervasio Alfonso having to interfere. When Fermin Ramos came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Racing Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fermin Ramos couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Norberto Casado in the 95th minute of play forced Dock Sud's goalkeeper Gervasio Alfonso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Fermin Ramos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Racing Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Fermin Ramos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gervasio Alfonso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match was over Racing Club could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Dock Sud throughout the match.
