Verna's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 42 minutes in the game, Esteve Urtungo dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Esteve Urtungo to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Esteve Urtungo got free with Norberto Telmo in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Pateadores's zone, Alfonso Beltza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rigoberto Tadzio came out of the goal and Alfonso Beltza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alfonso Beltza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rigoberto Tadzio having to interfere. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Verna's goalkeeper Norberto Telmo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Verna's zone, Nestor Urtun stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Norberto Telmo came out of the goal and Nestor Urtun tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Santo Naike fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Verna's protests and gave Santo Naike a yellow card for diving instead. In the 72nd minute, Santo Naike hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pateadores's Victoriano Enaut shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 73rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Norberto Telmo but with some difficulty. Pateadores's Esteve Urtungo got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 78th minute Nestor Urtun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norberto Telmo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Esteve Urtungo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Norberto Telmo having to make a save. In the 91st minute, Nestor Urtun got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
