Gilberto Duardo might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcos Weather. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gilberto Duardo ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anselmo Calixto in the 45th minute of play forced Upinango's goalkeeper Marcos Weather to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th match minute, Upinango was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Honorato Francho to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
