Spectators: 7137 (Terracing: 5424, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 50) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Edgard Montxo started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Independiente booed when Riachuelo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Bikendi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rene Rafe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Remigio Rayman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Narciso Hever tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Riachuelo FC's Edgard Montxo in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Independiente's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Independiente's zone, Edgard Montxo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Florencio Kaiet came out of the goal and Edgard Montxo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 21st minute, Rene Rafe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 26th minute Jorge Bikendi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florencio Kaiet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Igor Restu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Riachuelo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Igor Restu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Florencio Kaiet breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 29th minute, Edgard Montxo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgard Montxo in the 30th minute of play forced Independiente's goalkeeper Florencio Kaiet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edgard Montxo might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Florencio Kaiet. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edgard Montxo ran back to his position shaking his head. Florencio Kaiet stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edgard Montxo's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. The audience was convinced that Edgard Montxo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Florencio Kaiet was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. Hector Orlan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Narciso Hever showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Remigio Rayman in the 39th minute of the match. Florencio Kaiet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgard Montxo in the 42nd minute of play. Edgard Montxo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Remigio Rayman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Igor Restu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Florencio Kaiet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edgard Montxo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Florencio Kaiet read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Igor Restu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Florencio Kaiet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Igor Restu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Narciso Hever didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Silvio Rio went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 63rdth minute of the game Silvio Rio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Riachuelo FC's Narciso Hever was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 72 minutes in the game, Edgard Montxo fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Florencio Kaiet having to interfere. When Edgard Montxo came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Riachuelo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edgard Montxo couldn't finish the play. Florencio Kaiet made an important save on a dangerous shot by Igor Restu in the 74th minute. The audience was convinced that Edgard Montxo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Florencio Kaiet was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. Narciso Hever showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Remigio Rayman in the 80th minute of the match. In the 82nd minute Remigio Cuartio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Narciso Hever saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 83rd minute by Edgard Montxo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 88 minutes into the match, Edgard Montxo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Florencio Kaiet. Independiente's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edgard Montxo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 93rd minute, Gaston Sugoi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 95 minutes into the game, Riachuelo FC's Edgard Montxo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Florencio Kaiet made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Riachuelo FC played a much better game than Independiente and deserved their victory. The Independiente players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
