Spectators: 7202 (Terracing: 5403, Seating: 1656, VIP seats: 143) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Cornelio Hug started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Independiente's zone, Haroldo Weterio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Florencio Kaiet came out of the goal and Haroldo Weterio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Haroldo Weterio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 9 minutes into the game, Anastasio Guillelme was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Independiente's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Monte FC the free kick. 8 minutes into the game, one of Independiente:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Monte FC a penalty, 11 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Haroldo Weterio, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Independiente's Florencio Kaiet. 1-0. After a rather tough play, Independiente's Juan Ieltxu got a free kick in the 14th minute. In the 15th minute, Emiliano Seber shot a free kick towards goal which, to his disappointment, went just outside the left post. If Haroldo Weterio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Cornelio Hug came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Independiente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cornelio Hug couldn't finish the play. If Filiberto Felipo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Filiberto Felipo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florencio Kaiet having to interfere. Monte FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Haroldo Weterio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cornelio Hug received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Arturo Barto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cornelio Hug in the 47th minute of play forced Monte FC's goalkeeper Arturo Barto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Haroldo Weterio to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Independiente's goalkeeper Florencio Kaiet, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Jacinto Ostargi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 57 minutes into the match, Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Haroldo Weterio came free, but Florencio Kaiet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Haroldo Weterio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cornelio Hug received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Arturo Barto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cornelio Hug recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 91st minute, Cornelio Hug reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Arturo Barto. The goal made the score 1-1. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Independiente's goalkeeper Florencio Kaiet, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Emiliano Seber received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Florencio Kaiet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Monte FC were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Independiente to leave the ground with a draw.
