Paulo Roderigo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Otsoa having to interfere. Rolando Otsoa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Roderigo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In a very dangerous position, a player in Barreal fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 20th minute. Penalty! After 28 played minutes Barreal got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Gaufred. Alberto Oliverios made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfonso Llorienzo in the 37th minute of play. David Niva was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 39th minute. Barreal's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Alfonso Llorienzo charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alfonso Llorienzo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Alfonso Llorienzo kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Lázaro Quirce hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Rolando Otsoa was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Paulo Roderigo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. David Niva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Otsoa having to interfere.
