After a rather tough play, Vander United's Ciro Lucila got a free kick in the 8th minute. When Ceferino Namuncura's Serafino Martinez in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Gustavo Uzuri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Serafino Martinez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 36 minutes into the match, Vander United's goal looked a bit too open when Serafino Martinez came free, but Gustavo Uzuri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Ceferino Namuncura booed when Vander United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conrado Casomiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 40 minutes of play, Ceferino Namuncura's Serafino Martinez made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gustavo Uzuri was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Serafino Martinez was the one to do the kick off. Conrado Casomiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esteban Batista having to interfere. Vander United's Gustavo Uzuri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leopoldo Gonsalve in the 54th minute of play. Ubaldo Justin kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Ceferino Namuncura's Melquiades Ereinotz got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Esteban Batista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ubaldo Justin, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. 69 minutes into the game, one of Ceferino Namuncura:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 75 minutes into the match, Ceferino Namuncura's goal looked a bit too open when Ubaldo Justin came free, but Esteban Batista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Serafino Martinez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Serafino Martinez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gustavo Uzuri having to make a save. Leopoldo Gonsalve struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Gustavo Uzuri didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ceferino Namuncura. Anibal Gorosti took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Esteban Batista. Esteban Batista dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-5. With a little luck, Vander United's Gustavo Uzuri got control of the ball when Serafino Martinez tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vander United's Gustavo Uzuri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Serafino Martinez in the 94th minute of play. 96 minutes into the game, Ciro Lucila was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vander United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ceferino Namuncura the free kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Serafino Martinez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ceferino Namuncura's supporters rose to their feet, but Serafino Martinez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gustavo Uzuri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ceferino Namuncura's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
