The referee ignored Club Catigas's protests and gave Benedicto Barea a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Club Catigas getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Benedicto Barea hit a great ball. In the 21st match minute, Club Catigas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Braulio Ur to maneuver through the defense. If Severo Abadia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Club Catigas's Angelino Galindo got a free kick in the 24th minute. After taking down the ball on ANGELES XENEIZES's corner Niceto Estevez fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Joaquin Jakue quite easily take care of the ball. Jeremias Gaizkine received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Joaquin Jakue tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joaquin Jakue took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Severo Abadia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th minute Benedicto Barea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melchor Valente saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joaquin Jakue didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jeremias Gaizkine went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Joaquin Jakue showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severo Abadia, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Severo Abadia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, ANGELES XENEIZES's Melchor Valente got control of the ball when Gualterio Martxelin tried to sneak it across the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The coaching staff of ANGELES XENEIZES protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ramon Licerio had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benedicto Barea in the 97th minute of play forced ANGELES XENEIZES's goalkeeper Melchor Valente to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Severo Abadia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 100th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
