Adolfo Rodas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elpidio Iyan in the 39th minute of the match. In the 40th minute Conrado Galindo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Jakobe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 45 minutes, Anacleto Christobal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fryde's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anacleto Christobal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Elpidio Iyan made a kick off. The supporters of Galle F.C. booed when Fryde was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elpidio Iyan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sergio Eutropios short, quick shot in the 56thth minute got Christian Jakobe to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Conrado Galindo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Christian Jakobe made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sergio Eutropio in the 59th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Elpidio Iyan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fryde's supporters rose to their feet, but Elpidio Iyan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adolfo Rodas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Fryde booed when Galle F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ignacio Behe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adolfo Rodas came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Fryde's Anacleto Christobal. But to his dismay, Anacleto Christobal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Anacleto Christobal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Adolfo Rodas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 82 minutes into the match, Fryde's Anacleto Christobal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adolfo Rodas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 85 minutes, Ignacio Behe mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Galle F.C. and the Fryde players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Galle F.C.'s Ignacio Behe got a free kick in the 86th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elpidio Iyan in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adolfo Rodas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fryde's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
