Spectators: 6397 (Terracing: 5397, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Alvear FC's Stig Blomqvist started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Hawkins's zone, Stig Blomqvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnoldo Guerau came out of the goal and Stig Blomqvist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 6 minutes of play, Hawkins's Baltasar Alfonso made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tiburcio Otsando was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 12th minute Norberto Urre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnoldo Guerau saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnoldo Guerau took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norberto Urre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stig Blomqvist struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Arnoldo Guerau didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alvear FC. Tiburcio Otsando showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baltasar Alfonso, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Tiburcio Otsando made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isidro Iaki in the 31st minute of play. Alvear FC's Stig Blomqvist got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 37th minute Stig Blomqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnoldo Guerau saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnoldo Guerau made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arnulfo Pueblo in the 42nd minute. Tiburcio Otsando showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnoldo Lleir, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Stig Blomqvist took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arnoldo Guerau. Arnoldo Guerau dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. In the 62nd match minute, Alvear FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cayetano Etxatxu to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baltasar Alfonso in the 66th minute of play forced Alvear FC's goalkeeper Tiburcio Otsando to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jimeno Llorian charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jimeno Llorian the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 75 minutes into the match, Baltasar Alfonso dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tiburcio Otsando, 2-3. 81 minutes into the game, Tobias Gaufred was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Alvear FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hawkins the free kick. Tiburcio Otsando took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baltasar Alfonso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 85th minute, Alvear FC's Hector Mikolas seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Hector Mikolas the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Alvear FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Hector Mikolas had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Hernan Admon walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After a rather tough play, Alvear FC's Tobias Gaufred got a free kick in the 89th minute. It was beautiful to see Alvear FC's Alfredo Gilen in action when he in the 92nd minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! The supporters of Alvear FC booed when Hawkins was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Americo Soter didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stig Blomqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded Hawkins left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Alvear FC.
