Cayetano Caradaro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Epifanio Gaskon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Goicó's goalkeeper Epifanio Gaskon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sergio Tomi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gervasio Bitxintxo in the 12th minute of play. Vladimiro Tolino hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Epifanio Gaskon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pastor Mincho, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After 20 played minutes Goicó got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Jacob. Enrique Diagur took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sergio Tomi. Sergio Tomi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Cayetano Caradaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Epifanio Gaskon having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Goicó's zone, Pastor Mincho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Epifanio Gaskon came out of the goal and Pastor Mincho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Saverio Theobald charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Saverio Theobald the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Hernandarias's Saverio Theobald got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Enrique Diagur received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Sergio Tomi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gervasio Bitxintxo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gervasio Bitxintxo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Pastor Mincho kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Enrique Diagur recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Enrique Diagur blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sergio Tomi having to make a save. In the 60th match minute, Goicó was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guillermo Jacob to maneuver through the defense. Epifanio Gaskon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pastor Mincho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 66 minutes, Enrique Diagur managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Goicó's supporters crossed their fingers, but Enrique Diagur was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Hernandarias fans' excitement grew in the 69th match minute when Hernandarias's Cayetano Caradaro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Epifanio Gaskon came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Hernandarias's Pastor Mincho. But to his dismay, Pastor Mincho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. 77 minutes into the game, Gervasio Bitxintxo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Sergio Tomi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Justino Weather hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pastor Mincho in the 82nd minute of play forced Goicó's goalkeeper Epifanio Gaskon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Epifanio Gaskon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pastor Mincho went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. After 90 played minutes, Goicó's Guillermo Jacob shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sergio Tomi came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Goicó reached it. If Gervasio Bitxintxo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hernandarias's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
