Themis Kalomantis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niceto Abilio in the 15th minute of the match. Niceto Abilio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Themis Kalomantis having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Rojo de hudson's zone, Rodolfo Hibai stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Themis Kalomantis came out of the goal and Rodolfo Hibai tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had been going on for 45 minutes, Rojo de hudson's Teobaldo Mitxaut got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Danilo Oskarbi. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jonatan Alvarez to make the kick off. Jonatan Alvarez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Danilo Oskarbi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rojo de hudson's Jonatan Alvarez got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match clock showed 64 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Jonatan Alvarez sped through NEWELLS OLD BOYS's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Danilo Oskarbi. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jonatan Alvarez in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Danilo Oskarbi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 69th minute, Rodolfo Hibai got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Jonatan Alvarez came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Rojo de hudson fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonatan Alvarez couldn't finish the play. During the 79th minute of the match Cipriano Faro completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Cipriano Faro a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 82nd minute of the game. One of NEWELLS OLD BOYS:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Rojo de hudson:s goal. In the 83rd minute there was a penalty for Rojo de hudson. Teobaldo Mitxaut stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Danilo Oskarbi. 3-0. Rodolfo Hibai recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Rojo de hudson had won after a very even match.
