Ramon Malvin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Paskal in the 16th minute of the match. Miguel Gudesteo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabricio Suero in the 23rd minute of play. In the 30th minute Cristobal Caitano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Gudesteo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 32 minutes into the game, Ballester fc's Emiliano Ihazintu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ramon Malvin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Bonifacio Salvino might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Miguel Gudesteo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bonifacio Salvino ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristobal Caitano in the 43rd minute of play forced Ballester fc's goalkeeper Miguel Gudesteo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 45th minute, Cristobal Caitano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Miguel Gudesteo was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Miguel Gudesteo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristobal Caitano in the 53rd minute of the match. After 56 minutes, Rogelio Arce mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Colón de Santa Fe and the Ballester fc players grew even worse after the yellow card.
