In the 35th minute Luo Quan Guang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fulgencio Ongile saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Osvaldo Gonzalez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fulgencio Ongile having to interfere. Yang Cheng recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Teo Peru stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alvaro Fix's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. In the 45th match minute, Almagro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Octavio Iturri to maneuver through the defense. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After 54 minutes, Teodoro Valerio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Buo club and the Almagro players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 54 played minutes Buo club got a freekick which was hit by Teodoro Valerio. In the 55th minute, Victoriano Pere fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Fulgencio Ongile, passed just outside the right post. If Octavio Iturri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nereo Evangelista in the 67th minute of play forced Almagro's goalkeeper Teo Peru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fulgencio Ongile showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sadettin Akalp in the 77th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sadettin Akalp during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Geronimo Martino came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Buo club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geronimo Martino couldn't finish the play. Yang Cheng sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Almagro players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
