After 4 minutes of play, Cangrejilla FC's Nicasio Etxeberri made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arnulfo Miro came out of the goal and Nicasio Etxeberri tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Filiberto Criston fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnulfo Miro having to interfere. Fernando Geofredo made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Ladislao Pero sent off a good shot on target. After 25 played minutes Cangrejilla FC got a freekick which was hit by Arnulfo Rosario. In the 31st minute, Diego Frechoso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nicasio Etxeberri recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cangrejilla FC's Fernando Geofredo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Cangrejilla FC from getting a goal against them. After the first half Cangrejilla FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Ladislao Pero's late challenge caught a Cangrejilla FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ladislao Pero helped the player get up and apologised. In the 51st match minute, Ranquilcó FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ladislao Pero to maneuver through the defense. Arnulfo Miro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filiberto Criston in the 53rd minute of play. Fernando Geofredo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diego Frechoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filiberto Criston in the 61st minute of play forced Ranquilcó FC's goalkeeper Arnulfo Miro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 64 played minutes Ranquilcó FC got a freekick which was hit by Delmar Etxatxu. With a little luck, Ranquilcó FC's Arnulfo Miro got control of the ball when Nicasio Etxeberri tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 70 played minutes Ranquilcó FC got a freekick which was hit by Dario Sabino. Ranquilcó FC's Arnulfo Miro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Ranquilcó FC from getting a goal against them. If Filiberto Criston had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd minute of the match Rodrigo Urko shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fernando Geofredo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Arnulfo Miro was a little too slow when Filiberto Criston got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 88th minute. The score was now 1-3. 96 minutes into the match, Cangrejilla FC's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Frechoso came free, but Fernando Geofredo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Ranquilcó FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Cangrejilla FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Cangrejilla FC.
